Regretfully we have to inform you that Nigel Turner resigned as centre chairman on Monday 26 September with immediate effect.

We would like thank Nigel and Lesley for all their hard work over the past year.

The South Yorkshire adult and youth AGM on 8 & 9th October 2016 has been cancelled along with the attached rally.

The adult AGM will now be held at 10.30am on the 27th November 2016 at Hatfield Woodhouse Village Hall, Main Street, Hatfield Woodhouse DN7 6NF.

We have vacancies for Chairman and Vice Chairman and all nominations, including that of Officers and Committee, signed by the nominee, must be received by the Centre Secretary no later than 10.30am on Sunday 13th November 2016.

Formal notices of motion duly signed by the proposer and seconder must be received in writing by the Centre Secretary no later than Sunday 23rd October 2016.

The youth AGM will now be held at 10.00am on Saturday 26th November 2016.  All nominations for the Youth Committee, signed by the nominee must be received by the Youth Secretary no later than 10.00am 12th November 2016.

The Caravan Club
Centre Website Competition

 

The Centre websites were of a very high standard and were given considerable praise.  It had been difficult to choose and the marking was very close.

Websites were chosen by the use of The Club logo and also:

▪              Appearance (presentation, graphics, images)

▪              Centre information (covering introduction, committee information, chairman’s letter)

▪              East of navigation (clear headings, ability to return to home page)

▪              Appeal (including welcome to new members)

▪              Activities (programmes, descriptions, booking details).

 

I am delighted to let you know the winning Centre websites are:

It is a requirement of the Exemption Certificate granted to The Caravan Club that only Caravan Club members are allowed to rally with their outfits on Centre organised events.

Please make sure that you are able to produce your Membership Card and please don’t be offended if you are asked to produce it by the Rally Marshal on arrival at a rally.

Membership checks may be carried out from time to time in the future, especially at larger rallies.

2017 Rally Brochure Cover Competition

Please send any entries to John Watson,. We are looking for new cover design for 2017, it can be a drawing, a photo or a combination. The only stipulation is that it must include our Centre logo and the official Caravan Club logo.
The winners prize is a years free membership to the Caravan Club.
The judging normally takes place before the AGM, so please get cracking

 

Samantha Hall Trophy

This is awarded annually to any young person who people consider has gone that little bit further than normal ( it is not just about sporting prowess).
Nominations must be in writing to the Secretary please.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

 


"A rally is a gathering of Caravan Club Members, for a weekend or holiday to promote friendship and pursue common pleasures, pastimes and sports in a light-hearted manner, having fun along the way. Rallies take place at all sorts of venues, from local fields to stately homes."


 

Spacing at Rallies

 

Rally Marshals have been reminded of the Caravan Clubs guidelines for spacing and this may mean that some rally limits have had to be changed. Please be understanding of any changes which have been made for your safety.

 

Your rally marshals will have set out the spacing on rallies according to the rules, but please observe the following guidelines to make their job easier and keep everyone safe.

 A minimum spacing between facing walls of adjacent motorhomes and caravans (the unit) of 6 metres is required. Where an awning or pup tent is placed to extend the width of the unit, the minimum 6 metres starts from this wider point NOT the unit wall.
A car can be placed within this space but a 3 meter clear space should be adhered to.
The 6 metre spacing also applies between units and buildings or structures.
Emergency vehicles should also be able to secure access at all times to within 90 metres of any unit on the site.
To help space these requirements we suggest for pegging out, 12 paces between units and 17 paces between rows from the front corner to front corner gap.
